InstallFest and Linux Skill Sharing Session
augur — 21 April 2012 - 4:47pm
With the worldwide public release of the latest Long Term Support (LTS) version of the Ubuntu distro of GNU/Linux on Thursday. 26th April 2012, Tangleball will be holding an InstallFest the following Saturday, 28th April, from 12pm till 4pm. It is a great opportunity to install Ubuntu v12.04 LTS Precise Pangolin, as Live CDs will be burned onsite and available during the event. We can also take advantage of the Tangleball APT-Cache to install from cached repositories. This event is not just about installing or upgrading to the latest Ubuntu distro though. You are welcome to come along with other Linux distro's to install on the day. Also, it will be a great opportunity to share your Linux skills with others, or to get help with a particular Linux-related problem. To this end, we have created a SurveyMonkey survey, in the hope that we can match up those looking for help, with those who have the skills to help with particular problems, even before the InstallFest starts.
