The context from an outsider looking in is that these rates are
completely unreasonable. For any group wanting to use the space, your
basic costs (rent, electricity, internet, levy's) are your problem,
not theirs. We didn't concern ourselves with those issues when we used
Freemans Bay or Cityside.

"Suggesting" $100 is just over the top. No two ways about it. Welcome
to the world at large. Personally, if I were arranging a meeting, and
that figure was even mentioned (or the alternative of $15 / person), I
would be looking sideways at whoever suggested talking to you (and
later berating them for wasting my time) and would be looking for ANY
alternative. (like Freeman's Bay or Cityside or even, going to a pub
if it's a smaller meeting).

Funds can be raised without alienating people. It's okay to suggest
amounts. Just be realistic about it.

I suggest you find out the state of the books for Tangleball before
trying to alienate potential partner groups (you probably will be
surprised) in the name of "getting established".

Seriously - is this group really trying to implode before getting started?

Nevyn
