I'd imagine that Kiwibank or the NZ Credit Union 
(http://nzcuauckland.co.nz/) would be a good fit. I personally like 
the credit union idea, which if you're unfamiliar is basically a 
non-profit bank. Kind of fits the group ethos.

The key thing is to contrast/compare options. I know the NZCU doesn't 
have checking accounts, but who uses cheques these days. Both have 
online banking. NZCU haas several branches, but you can also make 
deposits at Westpacs.
