  • The wiki is having problems - no captcha for adding external links.
    • should we do another web sprint one weekend?
  • Next open day
    • More promotion needed
    • Did the scheduling of events from the recent open day work?
    • How do we get more different events or people speaking?
  • Tessa from Auckland Zinefest would like to hold a 24 hour event on the weekend of 9th July.
  • Any more news on keyless entry systems for Tangleball?
  • Initial discussions about forming a Steampunk society, based at Tangleball.

Projects

  • Augur has an idea for a Tangleball collaborative entry for a design competition, designing a radio for the 'sounds like us' campaign run by Radio NZ.

Minutes

  • The wiki's captcha box for posting external links is not working. (Thomas was notified later.)
  • Web sprint suggested. Cheng would like to wait for Jaco (who is currently out of the country).
  • Open days:
    • Last one had declining attendance
      • Could be winter
      • Still more promotion needed
    • Ed suggested keeping a public todo list when preparing for events
    • Thanks to Tumeke, Tessa, John Graves and others who participated
    • Tumeke offered to help promote future open days together
    • The experiment of holding the open day on a Sunday was inconclusive at best
    • Having a schedule for the day was a good idea
  • Keyless entry
    • Wayne is looking into it
  • Steampunk society in Auckland is starting up.
    • Robert F sees opportunities for collaboration with Tangleball
      • Possibly holding meetings there, as well as fabricating things
  • Zinefest upcoming
    • Tessa absent (arrived later)
    • Didi was there to interview Tessa about it (later interviewed some people from Tangleball too)
  • Tumeke would like to make their Critical Mass post-event social gathering a regular monthly thing
    • No objections
  • Tumeke is growing and may stay open on a weekday too
  • Robert F suggested Tangleball enters "Sounds Like Us" Radio NZ campaign competition
    • Maybe design a steampunk radio representing NZ
    • Closes May 14
    • Prize is a display at Auckland Art Gallery, which would be good publicity
  • Laser project
    • Wayne looked up some bits
    • Some parts are expensive, some are cheap
