Agenda

  • How about a couch/futon? (Possibly to put in the blue room.)
    • Jaco may have a disused 2-seater to offer
    • Or else there are some people interested in pooling for one
  • Sawdust extractor functions, could be installed at the rear vent
  • News on the wall or partition between dirty and clean (or noisy and quiet) spaces?
  • Just a note to let everyone know that HTC are unlocking their bootloaders on future Android phones. More details on Facebook.
  • Now that Jaco is back, can we organize another net sprint?

Steampunk @ Tangleball

  • We didn't win the RadioNZ Sounds Like Us Design Competition 2011. Winners were announced online.
    • However, we feel like winners anyway, as we met some wonderful people along the way. Our entry was the impetus for many other great things happening with steampunk at Tangleball. This experience will also ultimately lead to a permanent impression on steampunk culture in Auckland, as we look forward to the Aether & Iron event at MOTAT, and hopefully displaying our entry there to push the concept of Tangleball being used as a venue for DIY steampuk artists.
  • Kaaren Mitcalfe, the Director of Owaka Museum in Otago has donated a thermette to Tangleball, for us to refurbish and to "steampunk".
  • Two members of the League of Victorian Imagineers (Oamaru) have accepted Augur's invitation to attend the Aether & Iron: A time-traveller's day out event at MOTAT and to be guest speakers at our meeting there.
    • Augur is trying to organise billets for them, but if his plans fall through, can anyone from Tangleball put our esteemed guests up for the night? They'll be in Auckland from 8:30am on Saturday 11th June, until 10:00pm on Sunday 12th June.

Projects

  • If anybody wants to try their hand at Steampunk, have a look at the Æther Sword idea, a steampunk version of the lightsabre.

Minutes

  • Sawdust extractor needs to go into a bag.
    • We need a four inch flexible hose.
  • No news on the infamous wall.
  • Web sprint on QBirthday Monday open day ??
