Safety equipment required: goggles, ear muffs
No loose clothing or long hair - wear a cap if necessary to restrain hair
A dust mask may be necessary, the dust is very fine
Use a guide/jig if possible. There are several already made, it is simple to make another
Check for nails, screws, staples, etc
For wood only
Cable hazard, be wary of where cables are at all times
Deep cuts should be done in multiple passes
Warn others in the workshop before using
Clean up as you go, using the router produces a lot of very fine dust
Induction is required, the following are capable of doing so
